With Prof. Josef Haber & Fritz Rice

February 26, 2017

8:00 am - 3:00 pm

(limit 10 students)

Twice a year, Prof. Josef Haber travels to Beijing, China to train with the masters in "TianTan" (Temple of Heaven).  “Beijing Bootcamp” will give students a taste of the rigors and rewards of the Beijing training experience.  This workshop is primarily intended to give participants an emotional and physical taste of what it's like to spend a day training in the Temple of Heaven.

Beijing Bootcamp will will consist of foundation exercises (JeBinGung), standing meditation, body hardening, forms, and partner work.  Arts practiced will be:

  • Ba Gua Zhang
  • Xing Yi Quan
  • San Huang Pao Chui

Warning: This is not for the faint or heart or people new to martial arts.  To minimize the risk of injury, interested students will need to have instructor approval and be in good physical condition (equivalent to hiking 10 miles in a day).

There will be a 30 minute break for lunch.  Please bring adequate food and fluids to sustain yourself for seven hours of vigorous activity.

Beijing Bootcamp will take place in Seawallcrest park.  As is tradition we will practice rain or shine.  Please dress appropriate for the weather and activity.
